Guest ONETHUMPER Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 The book says to put in 850cc's I am pretty sure I drained all of the oil first, then took 100cc's from a quart of transmission oil leaving 850cc's approx. When filling the trans. it only took about 730cc's before showing full in the sight glass. Do you guys go by the book amount or the sight glass. The bike is a 2000 sport. Thanks

The trans innards have a whopping large surface area, which retains lots o' clingy trans lube. The only way to get it all out (short of complete disassembly) would be to flush with solvent -- NOT recommended.
Guest ONETHUMPER Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Thanks I feel better now I wont worry about the amount of oil it took. So as long as its level and in the middle of the sight glass all is good to go.
