Paul Minnaert Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Jaap and Paul, Sorry guys but I shall go in Dutch now Twee opmerkingen: de eerste fout: Het gebeurd zowel thuis als op het werk, als ik en post gelezen heb, klik ik onderaan de pagina bij voorbeeld:
Paul Minnaert Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 What happened to the video gallery? did we have that? Interesting, where was it?
Admin Jaap Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 It's still there, the link in the header is gone. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...o=show&id=4 I haven't been around for a while, because I'm otherwise occupied (I won't bother you with details). When I'm settled again I'll finish the site.
Guest ratchethack Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Hey Jaap, is this just me, or -- ?? One more opmerkingen: Older posts don't show apostrophe or quotation marks. Instead, what shows is ’. EXAMPLE: I'm is converted to I’m
Ryland3210 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 When the "smilies" "Show All" is clicked on, one must use the slider to see them, and it overlaps the message one is trying to insert them into. Not as convenient as it was. Contrast on some pop up menus, for example on a member profile makes it almost invisible on my computer. Different colors would be better.
Skeeve Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 FYI - I've noticed that the "View New Posts" search doesn't seem to update properly anymore, based upon the last time logged in, ie: I visited yesterday & the day before, but when choosing "View New..." today, I had all the latest posts, plus ones from the day before, & the day before that [essentially, from the last time I clicked, "Clear & mark all forums read."] And yes, this is on the same computer, altho' I *do* frequently log in from different terminals. A minor concern, of such infinitesimal importance that I hesitate to mention it, but I thought I should just for thoroughness. Forgive me if someone else already did; I didn't go back to check. Thanks for the great site!
antonio carroccio Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Paul, what Skeeve says is the same story I was tolding you a few posts back. Mine was in Dutch and Skeeve in English. I will translate it for you in Italian if you like Has Jaap moved yet???
raz Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Hey Jaap, is this just me, or -- ?? One more opmerkingen: Older posts don't show apostrophe or quotation marks. Instead, what shows is ’. EXAMPLE: I'm is converted to I’m I have the same problem, and it's very annoying. New post gets wrong too, at least some of them. I know the reason too, or at least a clue. It's because the site first clearly tells our browsers that it's encoding in ISO-8859-1, but then it doesn't, it uses UTF-8 instead. A workaround is to manually set encoding to UTF-8 in the browser. Every time
Admin Jaap Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 All this has happened when moving the database to the new server(with a slightly different setup). Something has gone wrong with the encoding. I'll look into it. Maybe there is a simple solution. Problem solved... I think... could you please check?
antonio carroccio Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I see Jaap is back on earth again. The site looks gezellig. Bravo Jaap...

Now there are question marks instead of some characters, I'm not sure if that is posts made before the change. Trying: ± (plus/minus) and ° (degree) signs, €uro sign and 'apostrophe' Edit: they look good to me. probably the posts I saw was made before the fix.
