DeBenGuzzi Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I rode the guzzi for a bit yesterday after not having it out for a month, (gas line was loose from the last time I took the tank off and sprayed gas EVERYWHERE) but the ride was so completely different from the Aprilia I couldn't believe it, going from the Guzzi to the Aprilia didn't feel as weird as visa versa. I mean the Guzzi felt heavy, sluggish, and hard to turn. I couldn't lift the wheel with just the throttle and I Felt like it needed more RPM's. The riding position even with clipons felt more like a sport tourer/cruiser tho I will say that, and my RMaund seat was much squishier. All that being said I can't wait to finish off the painting over the winter. I'm going to get a cheap but decent airgun and go nuts in the basement with a glossy black tail and fender then put on some stock V11sport stickers on each side and topcoat it. I still thing the guzzi feels more solid(it should at twice the weight ) and definatly has a lot of soul. Looking closer to the original tank and this new one I think their dimensions are different and I'm going to go around with a tape measure to see just how much, the old one held more fuel but also got hit by the forks on each side. These twins are more like 3rd cousins twice removed than brothers and that suits me just fine. Its funny all the compliments I get about the Aprilia are usually from people that know very little about motorcycles and the Guzzi I get less compliments but they are from people who know a lot more about bikes than I do.
