Price check - LM Rosso Corsa

New to the forum but not new to MG... I currently own a Triumph and wife drives a Breva... looking to add a 'new' MG to the stable and although I love the Griso, I also love the LM Rosso Corsa... so here is the question to the experts on this forum.. what is a fair price rabge for a 2003 V11 Le Mans Rosso Corsa with about 6K miles... bikes is sold here (TX) locally but was originally bought in California and not used by the new owner in the last year or so... although the owner said he has run it around the block to keep the fluids and battery running. I have not seen the bike in person but it looks quite nice on the pic... see below.

 

Also, anything to be concerned or that i need to check about this model/year when i go inspect the bike?

I have the same bike. Paid $9,000 on ebay for a stock model with just over 2000 miles. Worth every penny to me.

Since then I've put on every available MG carbon fiber piece, MG Ti exhaust and chip, etc. Wouldn't take less than

10 large.

psh, 10, wow. hold on to that thing for another 10 and I bet you could get 10

 

I'd sell mine in a second for 7k has two virtually complete sets of bodywork and all kinds of hopups, soon to be repainted over the winter to all black but the rosso mandello red tank

 

I think with even all the crap I have on my 18k mi 2000 Sport I'd be lucky to get 5k, which isn't worth it to sell at that point.

 

I say I'd sell it in a second for 7 but I'd use that money to put towards a stelvio me thinks, or maybe a bellagio as the Ape has taken main stage but I still like the solid ride and deep rumble of the Sport.

 

for your Lemans I'd say 7-8k US. is what to be expected and you shouldn't need to fix or add anything but new pipes for better sound. The thing will run for 100,000 mi b4 you need to do anything to it, well maybe a clutch somewhere around 75-100k mi. The things are fricken bullet proof, all you can do is proof it some more with some mods like better valves, or shorten its life with high comp pistons, you know whatever

They are as rare as hen's teeth, but you could probably call Greg at MI or Todd at MPH to see if a set can be found. I don't know what they cost because they were thrown in with my purchase of my Coppa Italia. I am guessing the Ti race kit is probably $1,500-$2,500 but I really have no idea.

 

But the sounds is AWESOME! I think there is a bit of a bump in performance too (they flow better than stock and it comes with a new ECU). You'll also want to ditch the stock x-over in favor of one that better suits your needs. There are several threads on cross-overs in the how-to and tech related forums.

 

Greg wrote a really nice piece comparing several x-overs and what he thought were the + and - of each one... I ended up getting a Mistral X-over from him and it did everything he said it would. I couldn't be happier with my bike in its current config... though, when I get some more $ I will be buying a PC III and getting it off to the dyno for tuning.
