Respect to Michael Schumacher

Recommended Posts

he's just doing that to show up Rossi.

I thought I heard Schumaker has fallen off, didn't he get into some nasty crash or something? That'll take the edge off most racers, but to get onto a GP bike and do that well. I'm impressed and at the same time whats the average lap there? as 5sec is a luoooooong ways behind the leader. ^_^

Respect, for sure!

But, didn't Mick Doohan and Jacques Villeneuve try that same escapade a long time ago?

Villeneuve wasn't allowed by his team to ride the GP 2stroke Big-Bang motorcycle because of too dangerous and Doohan smacked the wall with the F1 bolide after leaving the pitbox.

Would that mean that nowadays cars and bikes are much easier to handle?

5 seconds less fast than the fastest is still very fast !! Means, they really are champions!

That is impressive. 5 seconds may be long time for a fellow professional motorbike racer (who was on his game), but for a car guy to get that close is quite a feat. :bier: Michael Schumacher :bier:

Cheers,

I'm surprised Shum' did so well: he actually had the reputation of being quite slow last time he tried the 990.

This says a lot about the electronics embarked on the Ducati imho...Sure, he has the sense of speed all riders and drivers seem to share, but 5 sec...

Fast talented drivers can be fast with anything that got wheels, but next comes the hard work to gain the needed 5 sec( Shumi), or 3 sec for Rossi, that make the difference between 1st place and 10th.

I believe that today one needs to work double than older days to get a title, because electronics in F1 and Moto gp close the gap of

physical speed and talent among drivers.

Anyway, all drivers in a F1 or Moto gp grid are really good... and the work of the team counts a lot, for the final result.
