Guest renaissance Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I recenttlly bought a 1998 Centauro, the tires were toast. When I had the tires mounted the rims turned out to be out of true, both vertically, and linearly. I didn't notice it when riding but they are both off, front & rear, No apparent damage, but the casting are a bit rough. The shop thought they were hammered out & re powder coated, but I don't think so. Are they all a bit off, has anyone else noticed it? Mine are Brembo wheels. Anyone know anything? Anyone have a lead on after market wheels, or have a set of used wheels in the US? They are out of true enough that the dynamic balancer wouldn't give an accurate reading. I've seen worse, but only after being impacted, or bent during an improper tire removal or mounting Thanks
GuzziMoto Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 A wheel shop should be able to fix them. In Maryland, we have "Ye Old Wheel Shop". But any quality shop should be able to fix them.
waspp Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I have had experience with the following company. I had the rear wheel on my RC straightened after a major bend. It came back better than new, the inside was resurfaced and the wheel ground true after it was straightened. http://www.framestraightsystem.com/
