dlaing Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 what a good deal (as long as shipping is under $20!) They even have the deluxe version for the same price! http://www.indysuperbike.com/customer/prod...5790&page=1 I should get one just in case my TwinMax ever dies. Thanks for the 411! EDIT I can't add it to the shopping cart!?! Maybe need to phone the order in??????
Tom M Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Their website is a little messed up. $10.95 is for the replacement hose, not the sync tool. Sorry
Ryland3210 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 hello everyone i did forget to tell, i adjusted the valves to 04 in and 06 ex i think they had them close to 6 and 8 and took out the bosch plugs and put in ngk but beside that i have not changed anything. i will get out there tonight and get that idle up to specs and rebalance at idle. i bought some staintunes out of the classifieds on this forum from plexiform and they are great sounding mufflers, i am tweaking my guzzi for the warm weather, but i'm riding my goldwing to work. thanks for the help ,, bigger jim Is the 04 and 06 a typo? .004 and .006" would be normal. If they are really out 10 times that, there would be a definite loss of power and a lot of valve noise. I really like my Staintunes also. Just about perfect with the baffles out. John
Guest BIGGERJIM Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 sorry fellas it was .004 and .006 that would be rather noisy wouldn't it it just don't pull hard as it did. i'll fool with till i get my power back thanks for the help later bigger jim
mznyc Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Hi Jim, When you say that it loses power at 4500,do you mean that it's pinging?Kinda like a rev-limiter with a smooth rattling sound? Another vote for the Twinmax.Should make balancing easier. I too had to be talked through my first tune-up,mostly by RH,and it is a trial and error thing.Took me about 3 balances to get it close.Still have pinging under hard throttle but runs sweet everywhere else. Hoping a RacerX PC3,mistral x-over,dyno-solutions dyno run this year will get er purrrfect! Michael

Michael HEY Mznyc it's not pinging or anything it just does not have that hit it did you know when your running 4000 rpm and you turn it up it just dont pull as hard as it did, i amd beginning to suspect the plugs it had the bosch plugs in, and i switched to ngk bpr6es.. valves at 004 and 006 thanks
Guest BIGGERJIM Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 HELLO ALL I found my power loss it was the hose that runs from the fuel pump to the filter. it had a small hole in it and finally split and dumped gas on me during a testing run. after repair i suspect i will get my power back. will report tommorow later bigger jim
Guest ratchethack Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 OUTSTSANDING, Jim. Good thing you didn't wind up with one o' them Suth'n Bahbakeews on the road. Hey, I just realized you're down by the Fla Panhandle, just a chip shot north o' Panama City. Last time I was down there I played golf with my brother and a couple o' knuckleheads mid December. There was frost on the course and the temp was 30 degrees. That was in '89, in the heart o' the unmentionable global weather phenomenon that we can't mention hereabouts these days, since we're under probation. Is "the unmentionable" mentionable?
Guest BIGGERJIM Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 HELLO RACHET you boys was really wanting to play, if yall was playing in 30 degree weather down here i married a norweigan girl from minnesota and she said the cold weather here is diff from up north that it cuts right down to the bone, which probably has alot to do with humidtidy i have had experiance with the flaming bike, i had a kawasaki drag bike that decided to ignite about half track, not a good feeling for sure. i am about 8 miles from the florida line. i used your suggestion of 100 mm gap when i sit up my front springs i think it was closer to 110 mm but would have had no ideal where to start without a manual. you fellas on this forum are great and i would recommend any one with a v11 join. i am going to post my suspension set up in case another fat boy (300lbs) is going to change springs to the 1.1 springs AGIAN thanks for all the help... thanks bigger jim

Guest scrat Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Lutefisk is definitely an acquired taste. I'll bet y'er better half has it. I actually managed to acquire it once meself. ; May be, but what do you think about smalahove ?
Guest ratchethack Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 . . .but what do you think about smalahove ? Egad, I'd not been acquainted until I looked it up! Um, I b'lieve I'd pass, thanks just the same. A coupla points past "too gruesome" on the gag-o-meter f'er the likes o' Yours Truly. . . Yup. Det mosegrønne partiet på innsiden av sauens kinn i midten av bildet er definitivt gress. Hm.
dlaing Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I thought that was a picture of hakarl (buried shark) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A1karl The lutefisk jokes at wikipedia are amusing... "When Lutefisk is Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will Have Lutefisk! " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutefisk
