ALdad Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I bought the scout fairing last june. http://www.parabellum.com/ It took a while but I think it was worth the wait. Have a look and see. I painted it my self . I have no automotive painting experience. When the auotmotive paint handbook I have read "if you want to have your car painted with a tri-coat pearl or candy color find a painter who has lots of experience with them. It's not a good idea to attempt a tri-coat paint job in the family garage." The challange was on! the paint job came out quite nice and is a near perfect match. I got the paint at Senik Paint in costa mesa CA.http://www.senikpaint.com/ The paint is Dupont Standox. Motoguzzi verde. Grey primer, silver metalic base, transparent green and a clear top coat. I took 5 light coats of the green to match. This is the tricky part. A professional painter would be able to do a dead on match with this paint but I am very happy with what I have done. The fairing works very well.I have gone 110mph with no buffiting or wabbles of any kind.It feels a little heavy at parking lot speeds but really not an issue. If you want an effective fairing, and like the looks I would highly recomend one. The wind screen on mine is the 16" there are many sizes to choose from. I trimmed about 3/4 " off the bottom corners of the fairing and mounted the side lights(Auto Gem Jewel lights) J&P cycles. The parabellum web site has pics of the scout with much more agressive trims.I am 5'11"and the wind blast hits from about my eyes up. As you can see I have mounted standard bars. The fairing is mounted to the mirror posts and the headlight bolts. Charley at parabellum sent a variety of mounting hardware. I don't think I had to buy any thing except some chrome bolts snd some rubber compression nuts to fix the struts to the faring. Did I mention the quality is tops The inside has a smooth leatherlike texture and the dash is separate piece. The mirrors are MFW blind spot mv1 The stems have LED turn signals in them. http://www.mfw-wolf.de/en/products.shtml I got them from eurotechhttp://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/ Now lets see if I can get the photos to post. I am more of a craftsman than a computer guy. Cheer!! Alan
