Anyone watch WSB earlier? Dominated by Troy Bayliss on the 1098R Ducati but the second race was memorable for Max Biaggi's very high speed crash, resulting luckily for him in just an injury to his wrist and a very broken Ducati.

In race 1, Fabrizio failed to start resulting in him being swatted on the start line at 80mph- very lucky not to get seriously hurt and his boot got ripped clean off. There was another crash after the red flag was waved:

I broke my leg in three places in a starting line accident much like that years ago. Always gives me chills to see someone stall on the grid.

It never surprises me that when I used to attend accidents the number of shoes etc that had been pulled off feet.

But I'd hope more than that from a pair of motorcycle boots, I'd think I'd change my boots if that happened to me.

I think you'd change your trousers too.

I remember Scott Russell got seriously injured in the same sort of thing @ Daytona. I seem to remember it was a stalled Ducati also.

I've been to a few WSB races, they put the Ducati's idle at 3000 rpm so it won't stall.

Holy cow, but Max was lucky not to get squished by a low flying ducati. I missed the first half of the second race, so I hadn't seen that. Lucky man.
