Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 how to deal with stripping crank paint once for ever. Just a note, I have tried blasting it down with dryied ice - not cheap, but you don't have to cover every hole and etc... But it had no big use... Paint stripped down but not everywhere... This is a special emulsion for cleaning ice boxes in factories... It does not affect the alluminum, fortunatelly, process lasts one day - two days for me 'cause the carter is 3 cm larger than the van

gstallons Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 after five hours in bath There are places that use baking soda as a blasting media. It looks "new" and does no damage.
Paul Minnaert Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 well, I've done 2 gearboxes with strong paint stripper, then you don't need to take them apart.
Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted March 16, 2008 Author Posted March 16, 2008 Paul, I had broken timing chain cover and the oil sump, so I desmounted it all ))
