gthyni Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 You can't just buy a shock with the right numbers, and expext it to work, Forgot to say that. my point was that the price also differs between models so you can't take for granted that of Guzzi part has the same price as a Ducati part since they are very different.
Baldini Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Handling on my Scura was not good til I resprung the std Ohlins for my weight. Std Scura shock needs less high speed compression damping also I think, but 46HRCS may have different valving (It has remote preload adj which I would love to have!). It is vital to get suspension spec'd to your weight/riding style. I found Kais Suspension in Manchester (UK) very helpful for Ohlins. They have factory specs for Scura suspension. Ohlins is lovely stuff...
Paul Minnaert Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 for the scura, ohinls has a kit with preload adjuster: Kit hydraulische Federvorspannung V11 Art.-Nr.: öh364902 € 269,- zum Nachrüsten beim Modell V11 ab Bj. 2002, das original mit ÖHLINS-Federbein Typ 46HRC ausgeliefert wird. Stufenlose Einstellung der Federvorspannung ohne Werkzeug über an gut zugänglicher Stelle anzubringendes Handrad. Komplett mit Montagematerial.
al_roethlisberger Posted September 18, 2003 Author Posted September 18, 2003 Yep, and here's their answer: The part number for the shock is MG127, the type is 46HRCS (common features shared with many other shocks). The shock is not available through Parts Unlimited the US Distributor. I have checked with Ohlins directly, we are able to provide the shock with the spring set specific for your weight. The shock will carry the full US warranty. The shock is offered at $919.95 Thank you, Frank Cyclemall.net 949 453 1199 So it looks like ema-usa or a Dan Kyle is now my best bet at the aforementioned ~$780 Ah well, it was worth checking into Thanks Paul. al
