quazi-moto Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Orange Hiwatt Sound City It's all good. Now if I could just run my Guzzi exhaust through an Ampeg SVT I'd have some real bark!
belfastguzzi Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 "Hello, .... turned off .... old version" It's not me, dammit... Methinks you protest too much. Computer's got you sussed, Mikey
mike wilson Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Not just the one. I'm building a new one at home and I couldn't get it to POST (beeps and stuff) for my life. Turns out the case was dropped in transit and the switch under the reset button was jammed on..... All I have to do now is make Windows work the way I want it to. Wouldn't life be so much more relaxed if _computers_ used valves?

mdude Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I see Quazi-moto's got my favourite band up, Lux interior is more big twin than Iggy is imho, Iggy is more of a screaming two stroke Kawa H2 without silencers (and another favourite, seen him perform 6 times now) but these guys are big twin to the core http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nZ2S14J5II...feature=related tull, beck, clapton, green... them guys are just too polished

They are a T110 that leaks on your pants. Iggy is vicious, while the psychobilly band is more of white trash type. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nZ2S14J5II...feature=related yeah. Love them. And they are on the best label in the world tull, beck, clapton, green... them guys are just too polished i totally agree.

Ok, cross the Irish Sea: what about the Undertones (Here Comes the Summer, Teenage Kicks) and Stiff Little Fingers (Alternative Ulster)? Maybe still not visceral enough, plus they're just babies, we've moved from late sixties territory. Maybe that's ok now, as long as they use real valves? If we're shifting the time frame, I was considering Gordon Gano and the Violent Femmes??? Too folky for ya? Slippery slope – it'll be Showaddywady and Gary Glitter next. Yeah, back to '67 hehehee
mike wilson Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I'm frightened to search for pictures of Gary Glitter.
belfastguzzi Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I'm frightened to search for pictures of Gary Glitter. It would be an arresting pursuit, I warrant.
jihem Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Maybe it's their Englishness? maybe it's their whiteness ? Sly's music also sounds like a Guzzi full throttle. with lots of stops and 10 dollars note bill foiled
belfastguzzi Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 I decided to post this, even though it's not from '69, cos: 1) it's a fairly Moto Guzzi type instrument 2) there is a Marshall stack behind it 3) it's not Iggy Pop riding Guzzi, in the spring air, where cherry blossom wafts Now I'm waiting for an appropriate moment to introduce the hurdy-gurdy video. Could there be a more Guzzi instrument than that?

belfastguzzi Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 Never thought of you as a hurdy gurdy man I've all those Donovan vid's covered ok (also doing HGM: Steve Hillage! and Butthole Surfers!!). This is
belfastguzzi Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 A bit off-topic and could well go in the Quiz Forum. Spot the MG connection:
