Skeeve Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Get to have some better protectors for my ear.Does anybody know "Doc's Proplugs"? www.proplugs.com Those are designed to keep water out of your ears, not noise. You can get foam earplugs w/ NRR up to 33, and even "sleep aid" silicone goo type earplugs [the ultimate in comfort, trust me] have an NRR of about 18-20, which is more than you'll get from Doc's Proplugs, which have a .02" hole right thru them! [per the ad copy above.] Just remember: "sound" is pressure, so something designed to allow pressure to equalize is not going to "stop" sound... Not that these are a bad product, just not intended for the use you're thinking of putting them to...
Murray Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Disposable ear plugs $45(aud) for a box of 200 pairs high end jobs from you local industrial safety equipment supplier. Maybe look at the db drop of the ones you are currently using ie thier rating.
docc Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I had some ear plugs made by an audiologist (who otherwise makes hearing aids) for about 100USD. They fit perfectly, have lasted years and years and is the best money I've spent on a motorcycle 'accessory.'
