Light Switch Issues

Just took delivery of my '00 V11S today and after checking it out, have discovered that the headlight cuts off when the high/low beam switch is depressed. The momentary high beam switch works fine and the low beam setting works as well. Only when I switch to high beam does the light cut completely off. Anyone had this problem before? Any ideas what to troubleshoot first?
