renato Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 The grease fitting we all see was invented and patented by Oscar Zerk. Arthur Guldborg and his father invented the grease gun while working for for the Alemite Die Cast Co. Jeez ill send a pic of the hole and the grease gun going in from the rear if i have some time in between fixing my stuff and mowing the lawn and holy bejezus.

sullvarni Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 well there ya go aye! ya do learn something every day... wouldent mind seeing a pic of this Guldborg gun LOL Heres the pic of the end of the gun, notice how i ground down the tip,be carefull when doing this i screwed up my first try. the tip swiv'els either way from verticle to par'allel, works great on the front Uni Joint Zerk fitting with a bit of fiddleing putting it on and off. In North America you can get the fitting in Ace hardware stores and just fit it to a regular grease gun with the flexable hose, you dont have to remove anything from the bike surely a better way than some of the story's iv'e read on this subject. Cheers Stu.
