antonio carroccio Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 just had a quick look at Irish Ferries Holyhead to Dublin coming out at between £44 - £54 one way Yep, me too. And Calias-Dover isn't that expensive. About 75,- Euro. About Hoek van Holland -Harwich 165,- Euro <_ get to think about it.> Say Guy, your offer's still available?
Guzzirider Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Sure Antonio! We will be travelling to Ireland probably on the Thursday or Friday- maybe the Holyhead to Dublin crossing, then riding up to Ulster. Alternative is riding to Stranraer and taking the crossing to Belfast and riding down. Will decide in the New Year- you are of course welcome to stop over at our place.
belfastguzzi Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I see that we have some competition: Ulster Rally 2009 And the Czech brothers are considering the matter: on [edit] www.motoguzziclubbohemia.cz
Guzzirider Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 If someone is happy to lend me a rally prepped Subaru I'd be more than happy to take part in that as well!
Admin Jaap Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I see that we have some competition: Ulster Rally 2009 "The date for the 2009 Ulster Rally is Friday 21st / Saturday 22nd August" Sometimes you confuse me...
belfastguzzi Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 "The date for the 2009 Ulster Rally is Friday 21st / Saturday 22nd August" Sometimes you confuse me... I just mean competition for the name 'Ulster Rally' (not the date) Mind you, there have been many different types of 'Ulster rallies', but I'll not go into that!
Guzzirider Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Are we safe to go ahead and book ferries in the New Year BFG? Cheers Guy
belfastguzzi Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Are we safe to go ahead and book ferries in the New Year BFG? Cheers Guy Yes indeed. There is enough interest and the accommodation booking is pencilled in at the moment. I was looking at the date countdown the other day and it's nearly down to 150 days. When I put the page up it was 200 days. A quarter of the time has passed and it really doesn't seem like long ago!

Orson Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Since the doctor says the injuries from my accident will probably take 6 months to heal, my participation is looking doubtful (see post in 24/7 Section of the forum). I hope to make one of these meets eventually.
tikkanen Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Hi Orson :-) Good to hear that you're alive. Van said that you crashed big time down in South Africa so I was worried about you. Cheers Søren
Admin Jaap Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Here's my plan for the UK Meeting: I decided to do some site seeing in England before the meeting in NI. I'm going to take the Hoek van Holland-Harwich ferry on the 18th. Then across England (Yorkshire, Lake District) to Stranrear. There I will take the ferry to Belfast on the 21st. I will leave NI early morning on the 25th and will be on the Newcastle-IJmuiden ferry that afternoon. As far as I can tell now my better half isn't coming. But who knows, plans can change.
belfastguzzi Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 There is video of a ride along the shore road at Portaferry, in the Travel Forum
belfastguzzi Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Re Ferry Travel As well as trying MCN discounts, there may be no harm asking these people, Nutt Travel, for a quote.
