macguzzi Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 Help belfast there is a room crisis at the inn
belfastguzzi Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I still have no room mate NO single rooms left anyone out there Seriously? I was only aware of one person who has booked directly. Have others from the Forum here booked – or is it others, outside, who have booked the rooms? I'm surprised. I had the rooms penciled-in for our meeting, so I hope that they haven't gone to people not attending the rally! Will at Barholm didn't say anything to me about that when I last emailed. I had intended to get down to see the rooms and sort out bookings with him last week, but I couldn't, due to a combination of circumstances. I have had bad flu for the past week and as I have other lung problems, that knocked me back a bit. Today was my first day up. There have been other problems over Christmas, as my mum had a minor stroke and has been in hospital, so we have been looking after my sister, who has Downs Syndrome... so anyway... I didn't get to Portaferry to get the accommodation sorted! 1) If anyone has booked a room directly, would you let me know? 2) Anyway, there shouldn't be accommodation problems. – There are dorms, as long as you are happy to share. – There is the Fiddlers Green pub with B&B just a few yards (metres) away across the road. – There are other B&B possibilities. I had hoped to check the Fiddlers Green last week too, and also the possibility of camping. I will check those things as soon as I can. Don't forget that a couple of other accommodation options are on the website http://moto.belfastguzzi.com/accommodation and don't Panic!

belfastguzzi Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Don't panic, no crisis. UPDATE There is only one of the single rooms booked directly so far (a Guzzi guy, but not a Forum member here, as far as I know). The rest of the rooms are held for us. If you phoned and were told that there are no rooms available, it was probably because the rooms are already allocated to us. Give me any updates on your requests, desires , arrival / departure times etc and I'll make/confirm the initial bookings within the week. After that, it may be a free for all. It is best that people if people are prepared to share as there are double rooms, family rooms, mini dorms (4) and dorms (8).

belfastguzzi Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 David, give me a couple of days... Not to worry. I've just spoken to Will at Barholm and he's away this weekend, so I'll have to leave it 'til later anyway.
Mal Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Hi David I'm just confirming it this weekend but I'll probably want a double for Friday and Saturday, I may have to leave Sunday. I'll confirm by the end of the weekend. Cheers (loved the video clips by the way) Mal
Admin Jaap Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Here's my plan for the UK Meeting:I decided to do some site seeing in England before the meeting in NI. I'm going to take the Hoek van Holland-Harwich ferry on the 18th. Then across England (Yorkshire, Lake District) to Stranrear. There I will take the ferry to Belfast on the 21st. I will leave NI early morning on the 25th and will be on the Newcastle-IJmuiden ferry that afternoon. As far as I can tell now my better half isn't coming. But who knows, plans can change. The dates are changed a bit... HvH-Harwich on the 17th (Anyone knows a good B&B or hotel in Harwich?) Stranrear-Belfast on the 22th. (9:50-11:50) Belfast-Stranrear on the 24th. (12:15-14:15) Newcastle-IJmuiden on the 25th/26th. Ferries are booked! Looking forward to it.
