The guy at the bottom of the pic is bent over thinking about taking that rod but i dont think bore for a shaft like that

With some lightening and balancing, I'm sure they could coax 1 or 2 more RPM out of it.

 

I wonder if it needs a sloppage plate to handle acceleration forces...

A roper plate would add a lot of weight. On the other hand, overfilling the sump 25% would probably too... let's just hope they didn't put the pickup at the front.

That engine probably has a separate hydraulic unit for supplying the lubrication to the system. 100 HP 300 gallons. Dual filters so the dirty one can be cleaned while the other is being used. I'll bet those filters are the size of garbage cans.
