antonio carroccio Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Reminded me of these flying Duc pics: [ Jaap, if you have any intention to go the same way as the guy in the pic's, please take my advise and bring some of these with you
Admin Jaap Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 Don't worry, I always ride with a pair of these: Anybody knows the correct pressure?

Orson Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Damn! I'm sooo jealous! I would even consent to being the umbrella boy just to be close to the action
Baldini Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Good on you Jaap! That sounds like a real buzz....errr...What is Demo-Racing??? Good luck.KB
Admin Jaap Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 It's called demo racing to show the spectators how racing in the 50's/60's/70's used to be. Although officially there isn't a competition, the competition is sometimes fierce... And for normal races the organsiers never would get a permit, they call it demo racing and suddenly a lot is possible. Tracks are normal roads, mostly in and around villages. waspp Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Thats great Jaap, loads of fun! Make sure you get a good supply of spare parts to take to the track with you those practice laps are just as much for the bike as the rider! Hal
dhansen Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 A link to some pics of the race in my hometown: http://www.classicracingteam.nl/Varsseveld%202008/index.html This picture caught my eye. I've always been attracted to the smaller displacement bikes but have never done anything with them because I'm a BIG bike sized guy. Doesn't seem to matter to this rider! (Have fun Jaap, looks like it will be a blast)!
Tom M Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Go Jaap! That looks like a lot of fun. There were some very cool vintage machines at that race. dhansen, You need to go pocket bike racing! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xP_t5bF0k4o
WitchCityBallabio Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Good luck Jaap! I also spent this past Monday at the Vintage Races in Loudon NH and have been bitten very hard. I am considering racing a V50 next year (Need time to get racing license, some spares, one piece leathers etc)
