Molly
Been offered a pair of tyres for the 2000 V11 but the rear's a 180 not 170. How will that affect the handling / contact patch? Should I be sensible and stick to the recommended sizes?
Admin Jaap
From factory your bike has a 4,5 " rim. Don't fit a 180 tyre on it. The shape the tyre will get won't help the handling. My advice, be sensible
Dan M
Been offered a pair of tyres for the 2000 V11 but the rear's a 180 not 170. How will that affect the handling / contact patch? Should I be sensible and stick to the recommended sizes? Many here with your rim size went to a 160. The 180 will slow handling. Mine has the wider rim and had a 180 tire from the factory. I recently switched to a 170 (on the advice found on this forum) and the bike steers much more quickly now.
mdude
I've got a similar bike to yours. Switched to a 160 from a 170 recently and found a much easier more predictable bike to handle. I'd never consider a 180.
