John in Leeds Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 1936 Harley EL. Nothing else is even close. This one?
Guest britbiker Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 The bike that made me hold my breath when I first saw it was, and still is, the Guzzi 750 S3 in black with those diagonal red stripes down the tank leading to the rocker boxes, and those shark-gill slashes in the tailpipes. Pure sex. Yes, I know that the purists prefer the earlier V7 sport with gear-driven timing, but there's no accounting for taste. It was memories of that S3 that made me buy a LeMans years later - two of them, in fact - and it was memories of those two that made me buy the V11 I've got now. But you should never meet your heroes, they say: I got to ride an S3 a few years back and I thought it was slow and top-heavy. Still like the looks, though, and if one came along now I'm not sure I'd say no, top heavy or not...
moscowphil Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Wimps bikes the lot of them. Now this is what I call a bike ........ A sawn off mosquito bomber engine I believe.
