fotoguzzi Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 will an Ohlins fork from a 05 Aprillia RSV Mille R fit on my 02 V11 Lemans? would i need the triple clamps too or will they slip into mine? will the Lemans wheel fit up? thanks to the experts!
Paul Minnaert Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Your le mans has 54 mm in the clamps, the aprilia has 53mm top, 56mm bottom. And it is 40mm shorter. So neede at least, new triple clamps, new handlebars. And in all cases a new mudgard. Because its so much shorther the bike will be more on it's nose. Other option is the ohlins like in the cafe sport/rossa corsa. And I do have one for sale :-) http://www.fastguzzi.nl/sale/ these just slip in, needed is a new axle and mudgard. The rest fits.
fotoguzzi Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Paul, I will consider yours if i win the bid on this crashed Mille and sell off the good parts. I probably can't bid high enough to win it but will try, next tuesday. do you know if the rear shock would fit a lemans? Of course I could rebuild the Aprillia also.
Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I have visited friend in ducati service last night... other posibility from RSV forks are forks from Multistrada or... and here comes the sun... hypermotard 770mm il lenght is just perfect... but you will still have to get new clamps and etc...
Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 and these duc items aren't cheap amen ... yesterday, brand new gold hypermotard fors ran on ebay... missed them... ended up on 705€
Paul Minnaert Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 amen ... yesterday, brand new gold hypermotard fors ran on ebay... missed them... ended up on 705€ Maybe I missed it, but there aren't öhlins forks for the hypermotard from ducati. The S version only has a ohlins rear.

Paul Minnaert Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Ok thats showa, but it it worth to have new triple clamps with all things around that, new brake calipers. Only for a Showa?
Guzzirider Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 If you want good forks but not worried about the gold bling, Maxton will transform your old Marzocchis- Richard rebuilt the forks used by the TT V11 Tenni and will do the same for you- price is about £400.
fotoguzzi Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 heres the bike in question, http://www.crashedtoys.com/index.php?fusea...p;carid=2428571
Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 if you have the bucks to buy that wreck for the forks, and dont mind spending fortune in new clamps... go for it!
fotoguzzi Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 bids are already getting too high for me... last week I missed a wrecked BMW K1200LT for 900.! the place is in my area so i can check them out in person before bidding..
