arek Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hi, I want to change the rear tire, and so bought a rear stand. I also bought 6mm spools and replaced the bolts with 5mm bolts. I bolted the spools into the 5mm inserts in the back of the swing arm, where the rear fender screw was - I removed the fender. Now I am concerned if this will hold the weight of the bike ok. There are what seems like inserts in the swing arm, so I am wondering if that is strong enough. Any thoughts? Thanks. Arek
macguzzi Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I use a rear paddock stand with mine but have cups that fit under swingingarm you need to remove the bits of plastic from the ends of the arm.

Only other thing I had to do was push the cup arms appart abit more as they were too narrow as standard.

edge Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 .... I bolted the spools into the 5mm inserts in the back of the swing arm, where the rear fender screw was I am not sure I would trust the fender inserts to do more than hold the hugger
arek Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 I am not sure I would trust the fender inserts to do more than hold the hugger me neither. I took them out and gave back at the store. Only option I guess would be to take the inserts out and make larger threads. But, why destroy anything if you can just lift if by the frame?
