Guest jedo Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 When I first got the bike it made a faint buzzing sound when I applied the grakes...as though they were hydraulically/power assisted in some way. That sound has gone away. I assumed it was supposed to be there...right? Because the front brakes seem 'weaker' than they used to be. I know the left front and rear are linked. Does that mean the right front is the only side working when I apply the front hand lever? One possible explaination...the right side shock is weeping fluid...I have no doubt that some small amount of fluid has gotten on the right front side caliper and pad. Is that the reason my front brakes seem so lame? What about that sound coming from the brakes that is now gone? Any help appreciated
gstallons Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Mine did the same thing. I can only guess it is the cross-drilled rotors.
fotoguzzi Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 yes, your right hand lever only controls the right front brake. If something is on the rotor you should spray it w/brake cleaner. maybe its time to bleed the brake lines. and use both hand and foot levers. If you over heat one front rotor with a heavy right hand, it will warp.
