Skeeve Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 340lb dry wt.?!? Did the reporter make a mistake & put in the engine wt. for that of the whole bike? If not, where's all the pork on our v11s hiding?..
jcbooghs Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 That's without fairing like seat, tank and frontfairing. Very possible indeed. My bike is 370 lb complete ready to race. With alternator and starter and a full fuel tank it was weighed at 401 lb. I even remember a British Guzzi racer (rider was Torquil Ross Martin) of 330lb. So he told me.
biesel Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 What happened to Dr. John? Is he a dentist again?
Greg Field Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 He's caring for his parents in Pennsylvania. That racer had all three calipers operated off of the front master cylinder, through a proportioning valve.

Im used on a slipper clutch on my track bike and my Guzzi is now equipped with some radial brembo's... down shifting under braking is a challenging exercise already on the guzzi and i dont need some rear brake with that at all.. Maybe with the brakes they had in those days it was a good idea but now im not very sure of that..
