belfastguzzi Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 crack a bevvy and settle in. Brilliant, Badgoosey. Forgive me for posting these again: I just wonder did you see them in a previous thread, last December. It's the same sort of spirit and I think you'll enjoy them. Another bevvy? Classic. Atmospheric. circa 1977 Pt1 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ430-CCpNI Pt2 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-zb5HQEkIf8 Pt3 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=o52GRZqtk10 And again, that Road Racing video thread started with this one, which includes Omobono Tenni. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ATV8c_ZkK3E I don't apologise too much, 'cos as I said at the time, there could be a case for 'stickifying' some of the best of these must-see vids!
badmotogoozer Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Thanks Belfry! I hadn't seen those. Recognize some of the footage from my Dunlop DVD - think I'll pick up a few and watch it again tonight. I absolutely love watching old footage like this! cheers
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 crack a bevvy and settle in. http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:http:...deo-tt1969.html I think that is one of the movies (16 mm) that I watched at a local motorcycle club meeting when I was 15 years old (the other one was about Ago vs Mike the Bike at the IOM). I wanted a cafe racer so bad after that that I made some clubman bars for my old Honda 90 C200. The next year I had a Suzuki X6 Hustler with pipes and such. I did my road licence test with that bike even though it was bump start only (got bad marks for starting the bike and doing a wheelie/stoppie in the acceleration/deceleration test). After two seasons and 4 top end rebuilds I got a Laverda SFC (still have it), went racing at Mosport, Shannonville, St. Jovite, Nelson Ledges and it has been a wonderful life!! They really don't make movies like that anymore, or race like that even. It was a fun time. Thanks Ryan Jim
Admin Jaap Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 BMG, thanks for the video! Inspirational. I downloaded it to my harddrive. Especially wrt to the Triumph racer my brother and I are rebuilding. The frame is straightened now. Next step is welding some extra struts to stiffen the frame. The idea is to turn it into a Percy Tait Triumph (but not with full fairing... we want to see the engine!)
badmotogoozer Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 Very nice Jaap! I'd love to see this bike come together - please post pics as it goes! cheers!
Gino Rondelli Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Supeb. pity it was Triumph sponsored though , I'm a Norton (and Guzzi) man myself
Admin Jaap Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Very nice Jaap! I'd love to see this bike come together - please post pics as it goes! cheers! There are some pics from last year when we bought it in the gallery
