Dimitris Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Tomorrow I am living for a 3000 km trip on the 1100 sport and I just went into the garage to mount the BAGSTER tank bag (onto which a bagster bag will be put). BUT I can't figure out how I will mount the bagster!! As a matter of fact, I can't understand how and where exactly the lateral stripes hook!!! CAN ANYONE HELP? DOES ANYONE HAVE PICS? I am desperate and anxious since till tomorrow morning I will have to be ready. Please help! Thank you dimitris
raz Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 When I used them they hooked around the bottom weld of the tank. I use to remove the seat and loosen the fairing on sides of tank. Strap the tank protector around steering head (careful not to make it interfere with anything there) and rear tank mount. Then clamp it with the fairing along the sides. This also looks better than folding it out on top of fairing. The two side straps with hooks never was any good, and one of them fell off on a ride so I just ditched the other one. I've made over 10,000 kms without them with no problem. This is from guzzitech.dk - not clamped by fairing This is when clamped with fairing
Dimitris Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 So, What to do with the side straps? If someone want to use them, how do they hook? Do I have to move upwards the whole tank and then hook it underneath? or what? I can't understand how the lateral side strap is hooked on the first picture...
raz Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Like I said it hooks on the bottom weld (the "ridge" or what should I call it) underside the tank. The air filter is a little in the way but I could hook it in front of the filter and then pull it backwards inbetween the filter and the tank to the right position. Sorry, hard to describe
Dimitris Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 Everything OK finally! I mounted the Bagster and secured the lateral stripes by elevating a bit the reservoir. 2 persons were needed for this job!
