Evening all,

Got home from a lovely ride to see oily streaks on rear tyre :o

Upon inspection I have a very small oil leak. It is coming from the rear transmission box oil filler - but not from the actual hex bolt part. It is seeping out further up - from the join between the hex bolt part and the flat "cap" part (if that makes any sense at all....)

So basically - tightening the filler plug has no affect at all.

Has anyone else experienced this? Presumably the cure is a new oil filler plug?

Sounds like a little seep from the breather. I'd wipe it off and have another nice ride. :sun:

You do know there's a breather at the top (where the flat "cap" is), level check plug midway down at the rear, and a drain plug at the bottom?

Just checking. ;)

No leaping to false conclusions here, and no assumptions made. But if you -- or whover did the honors -- happen to've used the breather port at the top to fill the box to a point above the level check port, it will more'n likely continue to come out the breather on the road.
