fotoguzzi Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 just what makes it a Lemans? and the seat doesn't look like it fits right.
Admin Jaap Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I've seen it in the flesh, and it looks very nice. But apart from the clip-ons, matt-black/red paintwork and a Mistral (?) silencer it isn't that much different.
belfastguzzi Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 How do they manage the clip ons? They're obviously pretty high.
Admin Jaap Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 They're the fully adjustable clipons from Däs Mototec as far I can remember.
aermacchi250 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I think the Griso is one of the Ugliest newer models Guzzi has produced. To me,my sport 1100 looks much nicer
belfastguzzi Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I think the Griso is one of the Ugliest newer models Guzzi has produced. To me,my sport 1100 looks much nicer It depends where you view it from. From some perspectives it looks good: from others, it's lumpy-ugly. Overall, it's an odd mix of styles, shapes and purposes. Unfortunately, Century 21 Guzzi just don't seem capable of 'completeness' – good, honest design with outstandingly simple beauty and integrity. They're not alone in that, though. The Griso is about the best of the bunch and it's different enough, with more good than bad, to be special. The Stelvio was a bad mess from the start, superficially improved now; and all the Breva based variants suffer from... being based on the Breva. The Sport variant looks the best, but they gave it the wrong name: should have been a GT. The only model from recent years that people generally agree to be a good, desirable design, is G-B's MGS. Ironically, it's the design that Piaggio Guzzi refuse to give us. Maybe they'll change their minds, eventually: when we're all too old to ride one. Happy New Year!
antonio carroccio Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 BTW, I heard from Martijn (TLM) there is a newer map for the ECU Griso 8v. Dunno know how much this kosts. but it seems to working very well on the Grisotto. My guess, the price would be not more than € 200,-
belfastguzzi Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 What is the the Grisotto, Antonio? Someone's personal bike?
antonio carroccio Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Griso 8v Griso8 8 = otto (It) 8 = eight (Eng)
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Dang! I thought it was a Guzzi served with rice instead of pasta!
Skeeve Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I think the Griso is one of the Ugliest newer models Guzzi has produced. To me,my sport 1100 looks much nicer The initial concept that was 1st previewed (iirc) alongside the MGS-01 was absolutely hideous IMNSHO, based upon the pics seen in the various moto-rags reporting on that show. I didn't come around to liking the Griso until several years later, when Piaggio brought it over to display at the CWIMS in Long Beach in the "cappuccino" livery that they never actually put into production. In the flesh, the Griso is far more impressive & evocative than the 2d photos can communicate. It depends where you view it from. From some perspectives it looks good: from others, it's lumpy-ugly. Overall, it's an odd mix of styles, shapes and purposes. Tom M Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 If they're going to call it a LeMans it should have a fairing. Maybe something along these lines?
belfastguzzi Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Where's Baldini's modified design pic? It was nearer to the mark.
