Paul Minnaert Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Hello! Is it possible to take off the gearbox individually or I must take off the engine too? Thanks most easy is to remove engine and gearbox. Move them to the front. I posted pictures before, somewhere here: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/pics.php
Golem Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 Thanks. I've just opened the gearbox because of the failure on getting down from fifth to forth gear. does anybody know the use of the excentric bolt situated close to the shifting rod???
richard100t Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Have you first removed the cover for the shift linkage and inspected the springs and the gear mechanisms inside? It might just be a shifter mechanism problem rather than a transmission problem. Its worth having a look before you pull the transmission out. After re reading your post I believe I misunderstood what you meant when you said gearbox. I was thinking you meant transmission. Anyway if you have the cover off, manually turn the gears from first to sixth back and forth. If you have trouble moving the gears by hand its not your transmision causing the trouble.
