jrt Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Today (Dec. 8) is the anniversary of John Lennon's assassination. Makes me a bit blue every year. Abbey Road was the first album I ever bought. I was five and worked- actually did farm field work- to buy it. So, I spin a few Beatles and Plastic Ono albums in respect. On a related note, it seems all the musical greats are dying. Robert Degen, who claimed to have written the "hokey pokey" recently died peacefully at age 104. Everything was normal until the undertaker tried to put him in the coffin. He put his left foot in...then the trouble began.
slug Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Yeah, I feel it too. Dec 4 marked 16 years since Frank Zappa's untimely passing. Life isn't fair.
Richard Z Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Not a huge beatles Fan but understand the depression. I do like the Beatles. Just wouldn't stand in line to see them.. LOL Last month "Norton Buffalo" Died of cancer. Huge loss for those of us that grew up in that era of music. Yes, I know. Who the Hell is Norton Buffalo? You've heard his music not knowing who he was... Look his name up and you'll know exactly who he was...
