nudemetalz Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Heya from downunder New Zealand,.. Decided recently to give the 'Sport a new paint job as the tank paint was starting to rub away at the leg scallops. I thought a new colour (color) scheme might be the order of the day. A friend of mine who's a bike painter just finished painting his 916 and said he had some Ducati red left over. So,...here she is.. Have received some very positive feedback, people have said it's improved it dramatically. I personally love it !!!! and an old one for comparison Whatcha think?
Paul Minnaert Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 why not the seat thing too? I never liked the duotone thing
nudemetalz Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 why not the seat thing too? I never liked the duotone thing Too much red then. The light grey breaks it up nicely. You have to see it the flesh
HaydnR Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Sorry, but I prefer the original colour on the sport.
nudemetalz Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 Sorry, but I prefer the original colour on the sport. Fair enough,..each to their own. Unfortunately, my average photos don't do it justice.
fotoguzzi Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Ducati red is RED but that original color was beautiful! sorry......

HaydnR Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Fair enough,..each to their own.Unfortunately, my average photos don't do it justice. I may be biased as my first v11 was burgundy. Its successor however is red (chequered) but with a fairing and a bit of gold. Those clear blue skies and sunshine affect the appearance of the photos for sure.
GuzziMoto Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 It's not my bike, and you can certainly paint your bike any color you want, but since you asked for opinions here's mine. Even Ducatis look better in yellow. And there is something "wrong" about painting a Guzzi in Ducati red. And the original maroon was a beautiful color. Not what I would have done.
Guzzirider Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I like it- actually the very final version of the V11 Sport in 2004 had a very similar paint scheme- I think the Guzzi red is darker than the Ducati colour.
