Guzzirider Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Best wishes to everyone on the forum from Helen and myself- have a very happy and peaceful Christmas and 2010! In the UK we have decided we are sick of the mindless garbage in the music charts, especially the awful singers from talent shows like the X Factor (like American Idol) who for the last 4 years have been the number one single at Christmas. So this year there has been a huge campaign to buy Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name Of- and yes it sold 500,000 copies and is the Christmas number one which has annoyed Simon Cowell big time So to get in the Christmas groove, lets RAWK!! Guy
John in Leeds Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Agreed - and Happy Christmas everyone
Orson Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Yes...Merry Christmas to all although, going by the picture on the front page, it appears Jaap is somewhere in the Caribbean....without US
richard100t Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Yes...Merry Christmas to all although, going by the picture on the front page, it appears Jaap is somewhere in the Caribbean....without US That picture of Jaap was probably taken in Cuba. Its like paradise on earth down there but for some reason Americans still cant visit. <_>

You can't travel directly to Cuba. You can travel to Mexico, go to Cuba, back to Mexico and return to the States.

Guzzirider Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Friends who have been to Cuba have really enjoyed themselves. I'd think I would enjoy visiting and seeing the old American cars. Shame you guys in the States are not allowed to just hop on a plane and go there- maybe that will change one day.
Admin Jaap Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 From what I've heard from the younger Cubans, they would welcome Americans and their $$$ (most of them don't give a rat's ass about socialism), but it's the old Rebels who are still in power. If you have a chance visit Cuba now, because it'll be completely different in 10 years or so. I think the biggest attraction of the island, the special atmosphere, will be gone and it'll just be another Caribbean island full of mega holiday resorts. You can spot this trend already. Only one thing I didn't like about Cuba: the hordes of loudmouthing drunk Kanucks!

Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 if you can, visit Cuba while Fidel is still alive (or at least one of his copy). We've been there with family 2yrs ago and it was really, really gorgeous! maybe you'll meet something like:
Admin Jaap Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 There aren't many around anymore, but you still see a police Guzzi from time to time. The police uses Suzuki 250 now. I've got a picture somewhere too.
