Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I just got confirmation from Stein-Dinse that they only supply 1.75 mm ones. And he called it "that normal 1.75 version". Who would ever want that thickness? dont tell me... just received them today
luhbo Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Why do you buy there? There is still this great Italian shop, with another owner now, but probably still fast, reliable and not too pricey. The biggest advantage is: they do not sell products with an -Z order number. Hubert

Hubert I appreciate the -Z suffixed part numbers (german third-part alternatives) as long as I can choose when I want them or not. Sometimes cheaper, sometimes better. In this case, they don't use the -Z number but apparently they ship non-OEM parts anyway. ? I take it he means Agostini's in Mandello.
motoguzznix Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 When I was in Mandelle in June 2009 I got the right gaskets at Stucchi
raz Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 Thanks, I also got confirmation from Moto-Mecca that they have the correct 1.2 mm ones. But their price for one gasket is €13.10 while Stucchi is €5.25... I need to compare a bunch of prices!
raz Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 Guzziology says the lifter surface is convex "to a radius of one meter". No wonder you can't see it with your bare eyes. I'm not gonna try regrinding them but it's curious info.
mike wilson Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You don't want them spinning like a top in their bores, or you would have yet another wear point to deal with. They just need to move a fraction of a circle so that wear is spread as evenly as possible.
raz Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 (moved this to this thread from Tom's one) How are you coming on your rebuild? I'm just patiently waiting for parts. The head guy will k-line my guides and deck the head 1 mm, as well as refresh my plug threads as they were molested by a PO. The cam guy is regrinding my cam to stock profile, Hubert was kind enough to lend me a better one to use as master. I got new piston rings from Greg and correct gaskets from Stucchi. And lots of other goodies are waiting now, like an oil pressure gauge, LSL steering damper, new LED tail light and whatnot FWIW my valves were fine, even the exhausts, after 72,000 kms. Maybe Guzzi were out of cheese that day.
Slavomir Musilek (R.I.P.) Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Greetings All! Just a quick question - can i swap valve guide from C11 to V11 head? One of my guide and valve in V11 head is gone BUT I have now one spare C11 head with guides in good condition. Are there any trouble getting the guide out? thx for help! Slavek
luhbo Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Forget it. No chance. Your shop can take any guide they have in stock and adapt it, make it fit. Anything else is crap. Hubert

raz Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Consider K-Lining, it's cheaper and some say it's even better
luhbo Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Consider K-Lining, .... Is this some sort of Heli-Coil for valve guides?
GuzziMoto Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Is this some sort of Heli-Coil for valve guides? Pretty much...
