clickclack Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 My 2003 V11 Le Mans has a rather annoying neutral lite issue. The neutral indicator often does not light up when in neutral. It seems to work better after the bike has been running for a bit. I have pulled the ground wire on the neutral switch on the transmission and grounded it, the light does not come on (so i assume its not the neutral ground switch). When I ground this wire (at the trany) I hear a relay clicking, could it be a faulty relay? Do any of the relays affect the Neutral light? Bad wire in the dash? Any and all help would be GREAT!
raz Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 It's not the relay. Probably the socket or the Amp connector for the instrument panel. Or even the bulb, sometimes they work intermittently for a while before permanently going out.
dlaing Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Just to double check the results of your ground test, If you are in neutral and the light goes out, and then you put your side stand down, does the engine stop running? If it stops running, look for a faulty switch. If it keeps running, look for the things Raz mentioned.
