badge502 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I've got a few bits on my LeMans that I dont think are stock, and Im curious about them... Clutch and brake master cylinder and levers with grips... The grips LOOK great, but they transmit a LOT of vibration back to the hands... Also the gas cap... Sure did clean up nice...
gstallons Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I assume by your text you do not know what brand they are and would like to know? The fuel cap is from Oberon. This is a good setup because you do not have to fiddle with a key to open. The drawback is fuel sprays out on to the tank. Ugh... you have to be slow filling it up. I would look on the Oberon site to see if these are their grips also.
Dan M Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Grips, levers and reservoirs are all aftermarket. The blingy grips are aftermarket, look like Rizoma or Driven. I've found ProGrip gel grips isolate vibration yet give good feel. The levers look like CRG. Very good IMO. Metal reservoirs?

I got the Pro Grips on the way.
DeBenGuzzi Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 that CF dash isn't stock either, at least NOT on that bike AFAIK. The levers ARE CRG you can see it in the pic, which are the best for this bike IMO, and the grips and reservoirs are in deed rizoma which I want, but on my RSV not the goose. You will want some heavy bar end weights they really cut down the vibes and the oberon filler is trick looking but sadly impractical as stated, someone did a nice job of putting it together to their taste, now its your turn.
pasotibbs Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 that CF dash isn't stock either, at least NOT on that bike AFAIK. My Red/Grey has a CF dash.
Tom M Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 My Red/Grey has a CF dash. Mine too. I think all of the LeMans got them? Nice looking bike you have there badge. If you get tired of looking at your elbows with the stock mirrors there are extended versions available for not much money from Buell.
DeBenGuzzi Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 My champagne LeMans dash if CF too. o rly? so when did they do the CF chin guard too then? I thought they went together, I don't have a lemans but they can't all be CF, maybe whatever was closest to Luigi.
gstallons Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 My buddy's 2000 red frame is aluminum, my 2003 Sport (I bought it used) is CF. The chin guard is an accessory part.
al_roethlisberger Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 All the 2002 LeMans have the CF instrument mount/dash. If a 2002 LeMans doesn't, it is the odd man out I don't recall if 2003+ "base" LeMans continued to have the CF dash. Al
richard100t Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 My Rosso Mandello has the cf panel as well. I'm sure glad it does too because I can really feel the weight reduction!
Bogwopit Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 my 'o3 Le Man has a plain black panel[not cf] chassis no.m111365. Come on Luigi, what happened to my cf dash, bas$&rd?. A.Roo
