Need help w/ off the wall question; completely NGC

I'm selling my Martin Hatfield take-down recurve on eBay, and have a query from a potential bidder in Italy if I'd be willing to ship there.

 

I had limited the auction to North America to avoid any such complications, but I am curious now as to what regulatory restrictions there are, if any, on archery in Italy. Don't want to answer w/ even a guarded "yes" if there's a pile of red tape involved.

 

I kind of doubt that it would be as involved as trying to sell a firearm across international borders going from the U.S. -> elsewhere; I wouldn't likely consider that eventuality except to maybe Switzerland!

 

Anyway, if any of our Italian members can offer some insight, I'd appreciate it.

I didn't think the bow itself was all that important to illustrate, since my question was more about whether any of our members in Italy were familiar w/ what kind of legal issues I might be letting myself in for if I agreed to ship the bow there...

 

I figured this forum had to be useful for something besides stirring up the occasionally acrimonious debates on ethanol, global freezing or what modern automotive oils to avoid putting in our beloved motorcycles!

Neither. Ever since my "accident" 5 years ago [actually, I was the victim of vehicular assault] when my rt. rotator cuff was damaged, I haven't gone shooting w/ it. Doubtful at this point that I'd ever use it again. Need the money, so the bow goes...

 

Why the takedown recurve you ask? Why, when I bought it, there weren't any takedown longbows to speak of [& still aren't, AFAIK], and I wanted a bow that would be easy to transport by motorcycle: the bow, when broken down, was shorter than the arrows, so the entire package was easily strapped to the back & one could ride to the range. At the time, it was pretty important to me, so I was willing to pay extra for the bow, since I expected to keep it (& use it) for the rest of my life. Que sera sera!

 

There are some pretty sweet modern reflex/deflex longbows that if someone manufactured a takedown version, I'd have likely upgraded to prior to my change in circumstances. No such thing as a takedown compound bow, I guess. Some bare bow shooters despise the wheelbows, but I haven't anything against them. A little noisy for hunting with, but they do cast the arrow a mite sprightlier than any traditional bow.

 

Firearms are "it" as far as my shooting future goes, I'm afraid. Not much strain on the shoulder, unless you're shooting something serious like the T-Rex or some magnum round. Anything that needs doing in N.A. can usually be handled by the .30-'06, so I don't go there. My uncle is the "loudenboomer" fan, but that's in handguns, he doesn't much care for rifles that kick!
