Guzzirider Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Yes at last she is legal and on the road! Took her this morning to Holme Valley Autos in Honley who are very bike friendly and gave her a nice MOT certificate. I was a bit nervous taking her out for the first time but she felt pretty good straight away- apart from all the oil pissing on my boot from the leaking l/h rocker cover. After getting her taxed, I headed home, popped in a new rocker gasket, and then took her for a wet ride over the local moors, and then for a cup of tea at the Moonraker floating tearoom in Slaithwaite. Yes the tank badge is wonky- looked straight in the garage in winter, but needs refixing, and the rear shocks need less dampening, but apart from that she is fully sorted. I also noticed the rev counter on the Motogadget was under reading so recalibrated it on the move and she now works fine. Steering is ever so sweet, much sportier than any other Tonti I have ridden, and the big clip ons helped me muscle her around a few hairpins nicely. Yes it was all worthwhile!
docc Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 What a grand result! You must be very pleased. How long did you have her in the works?
Guzzirider Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 How long did you have her in the works? When I started I still had long hair and a youthful complexion! Was it 2007? I forget!
Admin Jaap Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Very nice! Hope to see in it in the flesh one time.
Dan M Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Very cool bike. Excellent choices on all components.
Tom M Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 So did you race to that cafe on your cafe racer??? Nice job Guy.
Baldini Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Great job Guy. Glad it works well. Can't beat a good Tonti!
macguzzi Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Was out on the Mk1 the other day great experience, you forget how well they handle
Lex Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Wow. I wish I had something appropriate and clever to say but all I can come up with is that is (baring the low bars my left wrist wouldn't tolerate) EXACTLY what I'd like to build someday. Goose
velofish Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Nice work, she's a beauty. How do you like the MotoGadget? Ease of installation, overall quality, etc. fish
