I own a 2002 V11 le mans driving down in South Carolina during 104 degree weather and after a short stop, when I went to start the Guzzi she back-fired, blowing the carb off of the boot. After she cooled down she started right up and did not back-fire but every time we stopped she would do the same thing when started hot, back-firing and blowing the carb off of the carb boot. Any help in elevating the issue would be greatly appreciated. She also is running very rich which does not help the issue but is not the cause of it. Thanks for the help.

Simplest solution is to adjust the valves to "world spec," freshen the plugs and balance the throttle bodies. Turn your air screws to one full turn out.

I'll second that, I was having the same sort of problem with mine, valves adjusted as per the manual

Raz told me to increase to 0.2 & 0.25mm, what a world of difference,

Simply start the engine with throttle held half open.

I don't think the simpliest solution is to assume others have their things done wrong.
