I am hoping to get some recommendations for Moto Guzzi dealers in the USA. I live too far from any civilized place to have a local dealer, and have to use mail-order for parts. I want a dealer who stocks most parts for the V11, and happily ships. A toll free phone # is a plus, as is knowledge of the bikes, and a pleasant attitude. Who is good?

Isn't there a FAQ for this? "Harper's, Moto International, etc. etc." - did you even try searching this question? It comes up constantly...

It may be in the FAQ, but situations change, owners change, the internet has changed things. I was looking for dealers who currently offer excellent mail-order parts service. If my question bothers you, please ignore it. But it must be hard to pass up a chance to set some idiot like me straight, huh?

Heh. Just consider yourself lucky that Ratchethack was already banned from the forum before you came along. "Setting an idiot straight..." You don't know the half of it!

Nah, not trying to set you straight, just attempting to uphold a standard of at least spending 5 secs trying to find the information that's readily available before asking the same question that's been asked 10**3 times before.

And in case you hadn't noticed, I answered your question at the same time I was gently chiding you for having needed to ask it. Sorry you were having such a bad day that you couldn't roll with it. Might I suggest you get an attitude check before entering the big room?

Welcome to the 'net! Nothing has changed, it's still the same place it's been since I hopped on the (mis)"information highway" 15+ years ago: the technology may have a prettier face on it, but it's still the same old rough & tumble underneath!

Actually, I looked in the faq section after reading your last reply, Skeeve. Heck, I didn't see a 'Good Dealers' thread....Am I just missing it?

Anyhow, + 1 for the ones mentioned, and also check out Ned's Auto and Cycle in Riverside, IA. Jim is a great person to deal with.

I, too, spent awhile on FAQ looking for a "Good Dealer" reference, and didn't find one. Maybe it is on this site, but I didn't find it. I seem to own vehicles that require mail order parts (no local dealer), and have often overlooked really good sources of parts and accesories. Hence, my question. I do value the experience of the members of this site. I also deserve a poke in the ribs on occasion.

Fair enough. I just sent a PM to Ryland suggesting we get a FAQ entry for this posthaste, with the usual suspects here & in Europe listed w/ their contact [website, ph#, street addy] info.

I figured anyone w/ a lick of sense would go thru Pete for their midget porn & other Guzzi needs if they're down under, so that doesn't need repetition... ;)

Buzz, I owe you an apology: I've been here so long and have seen this question so many times, that I didn't realize that running a search for "favorite dealers" turns up NOTHING useful. So, forgive my hasty & inappropriate reply; I am truly regretful for it.

The problem that might come up is one of fairness. How do sponsoring contributors (haven't seen mph mentioned) vs non sponsors fair?

So, I'm not sure a FAQ is the correct forum, but someone might start a good dealers thread? :huh2:
