Orson Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 Hi Orson I don't have any plans yet. I'm aiming to take Friday off work, so that could be a meet-up opportunity. I could meet you at Larne and then head up the coast to Portrush. Sorry for the delay as I've been on the road in Western Scotland. Currently holed up on the Isle of Skye waiting out a bad spot of weather. That would be great if we could meet at the ferry. It arrives in Larne at 12:05 P.M on Friday May 20. I'll be on a black Triumph Thruxton and wearing a yellow Arai helmet. I've seen your pictures so I'll look for a hairy bloke on an Aprilia or a Guzzi
belfastguzzi Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Look out for a PM with phone number. Such a shame that the weather has turned bad.
Guzzirider Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Have fun guys! Remember the Cookstown 100 races are on telly tomorrow night think it's BBC NI. Hope it stays dry for the North West Guy
belfastguzzi Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Citizen of the World, Orson, arrives of the ferry in our wee country, on his English bike with 150 or so fellow travellers A road trip requires road food Citizen of the World & Local Man and yes, Belfastguzzi was there too
belfastguzzi Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Familiar sights to some of you, well, the at least ones that weren't obscured by cloud and rain on your visit
belfastguzzi Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 V7 in Portrush outside Orson's hotel A red Daytona passed by a few minutes later Those were the natural preliminaries tomorrow, men and machines race
belfastguzzi Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Well... racing? It didn't work out like that. Not much point in posting yesterday's photos and commentary, even the humorous version, as it won't mean much without local knowledge. I'll just post these particular pics, which I've posted elsewhere. At least Orson can see see them when he eventually gets back. 'Farquhara' refers to top racer, Ryan Farquhar. ___________________________________________________ Farquhara Borealis – the NorthWestern Lights The natural light display was visible in the northern latitudes today. Accompanied by astral winds and the sounds of Tannoy Dafty Incomprehensibilis, this sweeping visual phenomena astounded tourists and experts alike.
belfastguzzi Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 And it came to pass, that after the lights, a sign appeared in the heavens. And lo: it had pedals!
gstallons Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I have heard that referred to as a sheen of oil too.
Baldini Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Shame for all about what happened. Hope you had a good time anyhow - pix great, as usual. Lovely country. I'll get over there one day! Orson - citizen of the world indeed! Seems very strange to one as bound by home & family as me. Good luck to you . http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b011g605/North_West_200_2011_Highlights/ KB
belfastguzzi Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 So the Highlights programme is there! It wasn't when I looked at the beginning of the week. That's good. It will only be one race as there only was one, but it was a great one! Thanks D
