Skeeve Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 I believe some years ago Triumph ran into a similar problem with plastic elbows failing on their EFI bikes & came up w/ a steel? retrofit. Perhaps it was BMW? Anyway, there may already be a superior solution out there in the wild, if we but look around for it...

They had an erly warning device. when your boot was full of gasoline, the line wa getting ready to break into 2 pieces. The replacement is steel. Where these engineers, penny pinchers, etc. get off using plastic on critical parts I wil never figure out. What really smokes me is that the price of the part is the same as if it were made from magnesium!
