mznyc Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 As much as I hate to see the romantic idea of the old factory with assembly techs with cigarets dangling from their mouths, hundred year old hand tools and hand-made bikes go to the wayside,it's obvious that to compete or survive,Guzzi does need a modern facility. and with scuRoos report promising, but not holding breath. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/General-news/2011/September/sep2111-moto-guzzi-celebrate-past-and-look-to-future/_/R-EPI-132808
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Perhaps they will move into the future without loosing the romance. If they build a new factory and preserve the old one then maybe they would use the old factory to build the limited specialty bikes like the MGS-02 and the V12 Cafe. A functioning modern factory with an authentic 'boutique' factory beside it that makes real bikes the old fashioned way. There is a market in the car world so perhaps it will work in the bike world as well! I will be very pleased if they preserve the old factory!
docc Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Even if as a museum, cafe, boutique, and, for us pilgrims, a brothel, er-uhm, I mean hostel.
