Baldini Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 ...follow the link > here for something gorgeous.... Thanks again BFG. Exactly. Lovely film OK! This winter.... KB
jrt Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 But what the heck does that mean? I'll agree, there's some good bike porn in the movie, but how does this fellow find 1) the money and 2) the time? And with the gratuitous shots of machines like mills, lathes and saws....what is he making? Not gas tanks, not wheels, not speedometers. I have all that in my basement, and I can barely find the time to knock out a simple peltier-driven fan for my fireplace. Summertime is ok for projects time-wise, but then I have the conflict of riding-time. Damn, I'm feeling cynical.
Baldini Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 .......what is he making? Not gas tanks, not wheels, not speedometers... Coffee. I don't know anything about his circumstances other than what is in the film. Presumably he put together the bikes - very nice they were too - & maybe he earns a few quid from it? Looked like a bit of an advert for a business to me - I dunno? Maybe it's family farm - nothing owing, no kids, he doesn't have to earn? Maybe he has other work. But whatever, that's his life, this is mine: I feel like somewhere along the line I stepped onto the treadmill & now I have to run just to stay where I am. The quality & pace of the movie, the attitudes & bikes therein are an inspiration to quit whinging, lose some of the shit, find time out of the many wasted hours, & get back to some things that are important to me. For me, there is no substitute for making stuff just for the love of making it. What's it mean? I guess it's one of those...if you have to explain...things... Thanks again BFG, I love this stuff. KB
luhbo Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 machine le mans from matt machine on Vimeo. There's probably no need to explain it, what he he does, to the people breed by the continent he lives in. For me this video seems to be the most "My Guzzi" one I've seen so far, actually at least. Maybe a bit more silence before and especially after the event. Hubert
