Guest callithrix Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 Removed the oil pan for scheduled maintainence and have a question. How do you dicipher the torque values from the workshop manual. It lists some exact figures for certain items and then list some general values for ceratin types of bolts; but I'll be damned if I can figure out their abbreviations. It's in section B chapter 4. P.S.The Guzzi manual really makes me appreciate how comprehensive and efficient my Harley manual is ; and it was only 1/3 the price!
Guest Guest Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 You would use the stand bolt value because it is not listed seprately. "Screw and Nuts 6x1.... 8-12 Nm" The first number is the width of the fastener (6mm diameter) the next is the thread pitch (1 thread per 1mm) The manual list the figures as Nm or Newton Meters which convert to about 5.9 - 8.8 ft-lbs.
