gstallons Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 i will take the shifter off , take some pics, show dimensions, etc...... I got a l.h. rod end & rod from www.midwestcontrol.com . I will try & find part #s for that stuff.
Kiwi_Roy Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 OK stop the presses.Found the problem.Thought I had checked thoroughly , but after pulling the battery again found one of the neg leads had fallen under the battery when re-installing. Been there - done that, too many wires on each terminal
mznyc Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Ya black lead,black background,and parked in a dark area.It went underneath the battery,so hard to see. I want to clean it up the extra leads to the battery,powerlet,quick charger lead and want to add heated grips. Would appreciate your Roy on a fusebox with switched fuses.I know most the common brands but wondered if you had any experience or recommendations for any.Thinking a 4 fuse will be enough.I like the Eastern Beaver stuff,but would be open to other options. Kiwi_Roy Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 No sorry, I haven't seen anything better, the trouble is finding somewhere to put the new fuses. If you are going to add some accessories like that don't load them onto the ignition switch it's already struggling, add another relay with the coil powered from the downstream side of the headlight relay that way the load will be switched off while cranking. Since your new loads are non-essential you could feed them all off a simgle circuit say Battery +, Fuse, Relay contact, new loads. I'm away in China at the moment so I have no way of sketching something out.

Sure,I'm up for any suggestions. thanks Here is a picture of my modification. http://sn134w.snt134...225a1b2d51&fv=1 I used a piece of scrap metal and shaped it like I wanted it with a 19mm center to center on the offset.Then I drilled a hole at the bottom of the bracket where it Ys and installed a 6mm screw/nut for stability. The parts were from midwestcontrol . When I find the invoice I will give specific part #s. p.s. I am sure there are better ways to send or post pics.. You have to understand who is posting this stuff.

gstallons Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 The Motioncontrols part #s are: DNTFL-6 for the rod end and TR6-100 for the threaded rod. The 6mm l.h. thread adjusting nut you can get from Fastenal or any good bike shop that will take time to help. You will have to grind some of the outside edge of the rod end for frame clearanse when installing the shift linage. It might help to purchase a 6mm drill bit for drilling holes. When going back together you will want to cut the new rod the same length as the old one because it is about 15mm longer....
