fotoguzzi Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 sorry about your Dad! one thing you should know, the oil filter is inside the motor, you get to it thru the manhole cover on the bottom, or better yet drop the sump and you can lock the new filter in place with a hose clamp so it can't loosen up and destroy the motor. plenty of searchable topics on this.. "what" you say? well that is where the dirtiest oil is so it does make sense.. for now you can just put in fresh oil and run it that way, I change filters every 2nd or 3rd oil change. if the black engine paint is bubbling off you have a 2002.
