No, not at all, Frecce Tricoli becomes poupulair with the crash in Germany in 1988. That's far away from WW1. WW1 was 1915-1918. The crash of the Frecce Tricolori was 70 years later.

I was using what I thought was the adopted insignia of the Italian army flying corps in for WWI and the air corps for WWII. But am not Italian nor an expert (understatement ) on 20th century Italian history.
