Here in UK you can choose to do a Speed Awareness course instead of the fine and endorsement. You can only do that once (first time caught) and only if it is within a certain percentage of the limit. You would have been too far above the limit I guess. Is there such a scheme in the Nether Regions?

I believe it's an and/and deal. You have to go to the course, but you still have to pay the fine. The course is for people that were caught twice or more or behaved very dangerously in traffic.

This afternoon I was pulled over for speeding. 55 kmh too fast, which means my license was pulled. Will probably get it back after 2 months (!) <_ it going to be a bikeless sommer. cr>

Yikes 55K over and they pull your license? That's harsh,probably why you have much better drivers in Europe(well maybe not Italy,)than US,actual consequences when you break the law. A privilege not a right.

Sorry to hear this Jaap,hope you can sort this out soon.Maybe a good time to take advantage of any maintenance or issues you might have been neglecting?
