bbolesaz Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 So for example, (hope this works !), here is a link to my pix from the 2017 AZ Rally. Anyone with any browser should be able to see these. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/g9y01lvyjsd4tlr/AAChAw_t9t1iyhiQY2opsnVJa?dl=0 (lemme know . . . )
docc Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I have a lot of technical photos on PB. This is going to be a huge project.
bbolesaz Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 This is what it looks like to post a link to just one pix, using the image popup.
Scud Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Testing from Dropbox. I'm the dirt-biker in the trash-bag poncho. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rxmcilhfyoliu02/DSCF2092.jpg?dl=0 above is a shared link. Below is a copy of the URL from the pop-up https://www.dropbox.com/personal/Bass%20Lake%20250%2C%20Oct%202009/Tim's%20Pictures?preview=DSCF2092.jpg These links seem to open up the whole folder to the viewer. BBolez - can you explain more about how you got one image to appear using the pop-up?
swooshdave Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Dropbox has changed their terms on me before. You use to be able to host a simple website from their folders but they blocked that after a while. I don't trust them to not do the same with pictures.
bbolesaz Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Go to your public folder. Right click the picture you want. Click on "Copy Public Link" in that menu, usually about 1/2 way down. Open a posting or reply on the forum. Left click the little picture "image" icon above the entry box. Paste what you had copied into the "URL" box for the "Image Properties" popup. Type the rest of your text. 1
bbolesaz Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Scud, I can tell that you did a "Copy Dropbox Link" rather than the "Copy Public Link" above. A public link looks like https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/ bla bla /IMG_1234.jpg
footgoose Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 does it make sense to increase the size of the forum attachments from 200kb to ... I dunno, 400? I have no idea of the cost in time and dollars of this option. 121kb pic from my very own file
Scud Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 OK - here is a DropBox public link. I call it "Dirt Bikers Expressing Dissatisfaction with PhotoBucket Policy Changes"
LowRyter Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 DP One of my shots I posted on DP. Let's see if it blows up?
docc Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I just put in about six hours repairing images in various posts with the help of my son, the software development engineer. If anyone runs across one of images that is still blocked, pm me and I'll repair it. TIA
docc Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Soooo, for those of us "a might unhappy" about the PB obstruction, here is a tool you can use to restore your images in your posts. Simply right click on the block box and copy the image location/address, paste it into the URL bar in the tool and copy the new image link. Put your post in edit mode, highlight the block box and paste in the new image link. https://fixphotobucket.com/ 2

Chris Thile is singing "This Land" as I write this. I took this photo on my way home from the Spine Frame Rally.
docc Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Thanks, man! (Hey, I'm not seeing those DP images?) BTW, I just went through Scud's wonderful "Brand-new Scura" thread and restored the images with https://fixphotobucket.com/ 1
